NEW Political Discussion Policy

RIJ is intended to be a refuge from the debates and arguments that are so common on the internet. In the recent past we banned political discussions, because they had a tendency to lead to arguments and bad feelings. We have decided that policy was a mistake, because it effectively muzzled most discussions here in a very political year, in a time when Christians needed to be able to talk about politics.

As a Christian discussion board, we come here for fellowship, Bible study, and news from a Christian perspective.This can clearly include political discussions.

We all know that political discussions can become heated. We can accept that fact. But we won't accept anything that could be considered an attack on any political figure, political philosophy, or member of RIJ. The judgment of what is acceptable will be up to the discretion of the moderators and administrators. Statements about political figures should be backed up with facts and articles. Ad hominem attacks will not be tolerated. Anyone who intentionally violates this guideline will be subject to disciplinary action.

At this point in time, we are asking everybody here to be careful what you post, and how you respond to other people's posts. Please remember that we are all followers of Jesus Christ here, and we must treat our brothers and sisters with the love of Christ.

Any person who knowingly propagates conspiracy theories at RIJ will be subject to disciplinary action, up to and including being banned from this board.
