I was listening to a young man who is involved in youth ministry. He travels with an evangelistic group that reaches out to teens and young adults.

The young man asked a teenager what she though about the Bible. She responded that she did not believe the Bible because it must have been written by somebody who was high on drugs. Then she was asked what she thought about Jesus. She knows nothing about Jesus.

Today's teens and collage aged students are being targeted by advertisers who preach that drugs, booze, sex, materialism, and pleasure will bring them happiness. What a lie! Things that are bigger, better, and faster do not satisfy, and leave us empty inside.

May the Lord GOD draw these teenagers to Him, and put mature Christians in their paths so they may know the love of GOD in their lives. In Jesus' Name.

I was listening to the Billy Graham crusade, now headed by his son Franklin. This organization is reporting that 47% of high school students are sexually active. The number jumped for high school seniors. :badday

This is so sad that these teenagers do not realize the sacred relationship between a husband and his wife, and the purpose of sex which should be a covenant between a married couple. Sex is being, or has been, reduced to a physical act with little meaning. The closeness and love between a husband and his wife has been greatly diminished. Without real love, without a pure commitment between a man and his wife, sex is an act of lust, which is meaningless.

May more teenagers make the decision to wait before they have sex. May they not be drawn in and told that everybody does it, because everybody does NOT. Some teens are not satisfied to be a slab of meat in the showcase.

I certainly share your frustration, sis.

Of course, kids have always had to come to a place in their life where they either accept or reject the faith of their parents. Does it seem that more of them are rejecting their parents Christian faith? Did the parents themselves actually have a saving faith in Jesus Christ or did they just believe in going to church?

I came to Christ in my late teens. In my twenties I walked away from the church for a little while, but I never walked away from the Lord, though there were times I kind of kept Him at a distance. That was just my own sinfulness making me wander a bit. I came back and have stayed.

It's frustrating to see kids leave the church; it's especially frustrating when you see it happening in your own kids. But we have done our best to instill it in them, and now we continue to pray for them that they come back to the church, but especially that they don't stray from the savior of their souls.

The sex thing goes hand-in-hand with this. Children of Faith need to realize that not everybody is doing it; and even if they are, that doesn't mean they should, too. After all, we are called to be different, to be separate and set apart for the Lord's work.

It certainly happens a lot younger than the teen years. I have been continually astounded at what Noah has seen and thinks that he knows about sex. Fortunately it is easier to keep him off of drugs because he sees drugs as what killed his biological mother. The sex thing is a constant battle to teach him that women are not playthings to used, ogled and discarded when a younger prettier one comes along. Noah's bio. father was a gangbanger that treated women as objects for his pleasure and that is really the only way that Noah knows how to relate to women of any age. He does get to see how I treat Randa and how our pastor treats his wife so he now has some role models that have rocked his perception of the man woman relationship.
